NSA Approved Disintegrator

The new 35/42c Disintegrator from Herbold Meckesheim USA meets NSA/CSS specification 02-02 for High Security Disintegrators, and it has been approved for the secure destruction of paper, punched key tape and optical media for rates up to 750 lbs/hr.

This unit features adjustable rotor knives which keep a constant distance from the screen, improves output rate and reduces the volume of fines/dust. With 3/4" of knife regrind, this unit provides twice the amount of re-sharpening than its competitive units. An outside knife jig provides safe and easy access for setting knives, thus reducing maintenance time. Routine service and inspection is also made safe and easy with an integrated opening jack.

Knife Value
Twice the amount of sharpening capabilities. Other units offer 5/16"- 3/8" of an inch regrind capability whereas the Model 35/42c knives offer 3/4" of grinding surface. This amounts to four (4) sets of knives with the spare set provided compared to others.


Feed Hopper Conversion
Herbold’s Model 35/42c by feed hopper can be field converted from hand feed to conveyor feed. No special hopper and sound enclosure changes needed saving major expense.


Adjustable rotor knives
this feature is important in that it maintains constant distance between the rotating knives and security screen. This reduces dust generation and maintains rated output as the cutting circle remains the same no matter how many times the knives are sharpened.

Jig/fixture for knife adjustment
The Herbold Disintegrator knives are adjusted in a fixture outside the machine instead of adjusting inside the units cutting chamber. This shortens the down time as the method cuts knife change in half. It is also much safer by reducing the exposure to the cutting edges of the knives inside the machine as competitive models do.


Clean Out
The Herbold Disintegrator transition slides out, chamber splits at the rotor, and hopper tilts back 100% vs. average access of 60%
